Student Code of Conduct Student Code of ConductThe statutes and procedures have been established for the safety and comfort of all participants. For students 17 and Younger, BOTH Student and Parent/Guardian signature is required.Code of Conduct* I understand RMSC reserves the right to dismiss any student, without refund of tuition and fees, who is in violation of the laws of the State of Colorado, the Department of Health regulations, the rules of RMSC, or whose behavior reflects adversely upon the reputation of RMSC. I understand RMSC staff reserves the right to enter my private dormitory room to determine the possession of prohibited articles (including, but not limited to illegal drugs, intoxicants, alcohol, cigarettes, firearms, incendiary devices and open flames). I understand RMSC staff reserves the right to enter my private dormitory room to assess the condition and use of facilities. I understand any dismissal forfeits any deposit submitted and owing damage fees or a return of aid/scholarship monies awarded. 18 and OverLevel One – 18 and Over* Any criminal behavior (including, but not limited to: the use or possession of illegal drugs, illegal use of intoxicants, driving under the influence, public intoxication, and/or providing alcohol to minors) is prohibited. Any use of alcohol which impacts student behavior, e.g., by contributing to absence or tardiness, is prohibited. Providing alcohol to anyone under the age of 21 is prohibited. Providing cigarettes to anyone under the age of 18 is prohibited. Alcohol and cigarettes are prohibited on the campus of the Colorado Mountain College. Sexual harassment is prohibited. (For a full explanation of this statute see the Sexual Harassment Policy.) Sexual relations with minors is prohibited. I am not allowed in the room of a student of the opposite gender who is under the age of 18. Possession or use of firearms or incendiary devices, e.g., fireworks, is prohibited. Open flames (including, but not limited to: smoking, incense burning, lit candles, etc.) on campus is prohibited. Violation of any of these statutes may result in forfeiture of security deposit, revocation and repayment of any scholarship or financial aid and/or immediate dismissal from RMSC without refund of tuition or fees. Level Two – 18 and Over* I will participate in all assigned classes and activities: core classes, interdisciplinary classes, concerts, meals, morning stretch/meetings, and any full-participation activities, unless excused by the RMSC staff. I am responsible for maintaining the common areas of dormitories and other buildings used by RMSC. Any media with a rating not appropriate for minors is discouraged – sharing this media with minors is prohibited. Violation of any of these statutes may result in disciplinary actions consistent with the severity of infraction, forfeiture of security deposit, and/or revocation of any scholarship or financial aid. Level Three – 18 and Over* I will comply with instructions given by RMSC staff and faculty. As a student, either I or my parent/guardian, is financially responsible for any damages made to the property of RMSC or Colorado Mountain College. I will observe quiet time in the shared spaces from 9:00 pm to 8:30 am. To maintain a comfortable living environment for all students, use of electronic devices such as mobile devices, radios/stereos, etc., without head phones is not allowed, except in designated areas. Violation of any of these statutes may result in disciplinary actions consistent with the severity of the infraction, including forfeiture of security deposit. 17 and YoungerLevel One – 17 and Younger* Any criminal behavior (including, but not limited to: the use or possession of illegal drugs, illegal use of intoxicants, driving under the influence, public intoxication, and/or providing alcohol to minors) is prohibited. I am not allowed to leave campus without RMSC supervision and/or permission. I may leave campus with a relative over 18 or other adult(s) stipulated by my parent/guardian if a letter from the parent/guardian is on file with RMSC releasing RMSC from responsibility. I understand RMSC reserves the right to deny permission if my absence interferes with RMSC classes and activities. When leaving campus with any person who is not an RMSC staff or faculty member, I must follow check-out procedures which indicate clear departure and return times. Violation of any of these statutes may result in forfeiture of security deposit, revocation and repayment of any scholarship or financial aid and/or immediate dismissal from RMSC without refund of tuition or fees.
